What a weekend it has been!! It all started on Thursday. I went up to Salt Lake for a show. Before I left, Sadie was fine. Andreas took her to the Grandma's houses for visits. First to my Moms then to the Hallbergs, she all of a sudden started throwing up. He takes her home and she threw up the whole way home in his new truck (yikes!). So I get a call from Andreas about midnight and I can hear her dry heaving and screaming, crying on the phone. That is the worst sound to hear when you are 45 miles away. When your baby is sick, the last thing you want to be is away from her. I pretty much cried the whole way home. I finally get home and the whole house smells like throw up but at least Sadie was okay when I got there. She got through the night with a couple whimpers and the next morning I started my task at cleaning everything. Her car seat was the worst. It was so bad that I had to run to the bathroom and throw up myself. She slept for most of the day with a couple of episodes that day but not too bad, I was worried because she wouldn't eat anything. Andreas bought her pedialyte and she thinks its the greatest treat. Usually she loves everything about food (she takes after her papa) this time she was pretty much running in the corner just by the sight of it. The next morning (Saturday) we all wake up and I'm just hoping to put it all behind us. Oh...little did I know. It had only just begun. I put Sadie in her high chair to see if she will have some toast and apples and I hear Andreas throwing up in our room. Then I look down and Sadie has throw up spewing out of her. So, the rest of the day was a continuous routine of getting Andreas water or 7-up and helping him to the bathroom or getting him a cold rag...and poor little Sadie just looked miserable. Although, she was tired all day and probably only awake for 3 hours. For some reason I had so much energy and put on my super-mom jacket and was fine taking care of my two babes. Actually, I was fine until about 9 o'clock last night. I started feeling really uneasy...we laid down for bed at 12 and by 1:30 I still was not asleep yet (which never happens) and I threw up 3 times that night. It was like dominos. Sadie got sick, andreas took care of her. Andreas got sick, I took care of him. Then I got sick, And Andreas and Sadie have been taking care of me all day. We were like a little trapped family inside this little contaminated condo. No one aloud in, No one aloud out. So all in all, we watched enough movies to last us all year, ran the dish washer and washer WAY too many times, and enjoyed our headaches, throw ups, and soreness together. We were all so helpful to each other. Sadie knew when we were both sick cause she would come cuddle with us on the couch (and actually sit still with us) We must have got the 24 hour flu?? It was so weird.
At around 7 P.M. tonight I started feeling tons better and I went into super cleaning mode. Andreas took Sadie to GG's house (great-grandma Doris) to swing in the back yard. I stayed home and cleaned the whole house from top to bottom. I boiled all her toys and disinfected EVERYTHING. I don't think that there is anything in the house that I did not clean. Andreas was making me laugh because he was saying that I am the weirdest person. Even when I'm deathly ill I will still have to be cleaning something. He kept saying, "You're not really sick, there is no way that you are doing that right now while being sick" It gets my mind off of how horrible I feel. Thats just the way I am I guess. I remember when I had Sadie I was in my hospital room within hours of having her and I'm tidying up the room, barely able to walk.
Anyways, I feel delirious right now. I cant wait for morning, I'm going to bust out of here and not come back for at least 5 hours. :)
Here is a picture of Sadie that I took right before she got sick. She got into the dental floss and thought it was really funny.
